My name is Damian Gregory, i'm 23 and from a small town in Derbyshire, England. I am a university graduate and currently seeking freelance work in the digital arts sector. I set up this site to showcase my previous projects, and aid in my search for work.
I think my interest in computer graphics stems from my hobbies as a child. I grew up with a key interest in how everyday things work, and how simple shapes can be combined to create complex designs. My favourite toy was of course Lego, and later Technic Lego. This slowly changed when gaming consoles and personal computers arrived in my world. I instantly became facinated with computer games and their graphics, even those using only 15 colours at the time. This instantly lead to a desire for creating my own content for games and editing parts of them to see how they work, starting with classics such as Doom and Rollercoaster Tycoon. This trend continued through the years, moving onto ever more complex games and ideas. I am now creating content for current games such as Half-Life 2, as well as designing models for other purposes.
I now dedicate a large portion of my time to creating content in 3DSMax 2010, Mudbox 2010 and Photoshop CS4, both for commerical and personal uses. I enjoy this work immensely and seeing all the time and effort come together as a final product is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have.
My other interests are computer gaming (no surprises there!), story writing and playing bass guitar, amongst others. I enjoy all kinds of music, from various genres of metal right up to funk, fusion and blues. I am currently the bassist in a Progressive Metal band: Ethereal Logic, as well as writing my own solo fusion and blues material.
