After seeing numerous interior scenes in other profiles and portfolios, I decided to try my hand at my own. I wanted to create something as photorealistic as possible, so where better than the very room I sit in to work on my projects? I know how everything looks, and if I forget, I could just turn around and look. I measured the room itself first, and then all the major peices of furniture and objects; nothing these down as sketches. I then blocked out the basic shape of the room in 3DSMax, starting with the floor, ceiling and walls. I then added the window and doorframe. After this I created all of the objects one by one and placed them into the scene. The lighting effects were acheived by using photometric lights that accurately model real light sources. I used these to project light from the desk lamp, the ceiling halogen spotlights , the blue PC LED's, and the slight glow of the PC monitor.
